Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland where centuries of history give way to a now vibrant and cosmopolitan city.

With its ancient volcanoes and wonderful views out to the North Sea we will take you around this fascinating city to experience it all.

OLD CASTLE.jpg

We include Edinburgh Castle which dates back to the 12th century. This imposing fortress is built on an extinct volcano and was the ‘Royal home’ since the reign of David I of Scotland.

We then visit St. Giles Cathedral and the Royal Palace of Holyrood, which is still the Queens’ residence to this day when visiting Scotland.

We then visit the coastal town of South Queensferry to see one of Scotland's most famous landmarks, the Forth Road Bridge. We then go on to visit Hopetoun House, home to the Marquis of Linlithgow and his family to this day.

Not much further is Blackness castle. This was used to imprison Mary Queen of Scots during the 17th century.

On the trail of Mary Queen of Scots we next visit Linlithgow Palace, once one of the principle residences to the

monarch of Scotland during the 15th and 16th centuries.

Mary Queen of Scots was also born here in December 1542.

We then go into the privately owned and ancient Rosslyn Chapel as featured in the 2003 best seller

‘The Da Vinci Code’.
